These delicious sweet idlis need a bunch of ingredients in their preparation process, and most of them are easily found in the kitsch cupboard. Here we have listed the ingredients you need to get before starting with the recipe preparation process.

  • Jackfruit –  2 Cups (ripened)
  • Coconut – 1 Cup (grated)
  • Elaechi – 4 Pieces
  • Jaggery powder – 1 Cup
  • Suji – 1 Cup (roasted)
  • Water – As per the requirement
  • Salt – ½ Tablespoon
  • Ghee – 2 Tablespoons

NOTE

To make this tempting idli recipe, we have used Avadata cardamom and Urban Platter coconut jaggery powder to enhance its taste and give the recipe a hint of purity.

NUTRITION

For many of you, jackfruit idli might be a new variant of idli nut; it’s highly nutritious. The idli recipe needs jackfruit pulp and roasted suji in its preparation. However, the fruit supplies abundant in fibre, vitamins, and minerals and low in calories is jackfruit. Idli, on the other hand, is a low-calorie, low-fat dish high in protein and carbohydrates.

The nutrition value is based on 2 medium size idli. However, it may differ as per the use of ingredients and recipe.

INSTRUCTIONS

For Indians, idli is an irresistible food option. Be it rava idle, rice idle, ragi idle, etc., each of the variants is loved and cherished by all. Here is another idle recipe, which we bet you will love this variant too. Here we have mentioned the detailed instruction of the recipe for you to follow as a guide and give a sweet treat to your loved ones this Sunday.

 

  • To get started, cut the jackfruit and separate the pods. Put them into a mixer grinder along with some grated coconut, jaggery powder, and elaichi. Blend all the ingredients well and make a smooth puree without adding a single drop of water to it. 
  • Transfer the paste to a bowl, add roasted suji and salt to it, and mix it well. Add some water to adjust its consistency.
  • Cover the bowl and allow it to rest for 20 Minutes. After adding some more water to give it a flowy consistency as suji absorbs water.
  • Take an idli mould, and grease it with ghee. Add 1 tablespoon of idli batter to every idli mould and steam it for 10-15 Minutes.
  • Check after 10 minutes if it is cooked or bot with the help of a knife by placing the knife in it. 
  • Once your jackfruit idli is ready enjoy it with coconut chutney and sambhar.
