North Indian baked kachori Recipe

The dish is one of the most loved recipes from the land of Rajasthan. Being originated from the state the kachori has vibrant flavours due to the use of several spices and chillies in it that naturally elevate the recipe’s overall taste and texture. The recipe is a perfect all-time snack which can be enjoyed in the morning for breakfast, as an evening snack or you have it anytime, depending on your choice. The recipe has vibrant flavour due to the species used in the recipe, to make the recipe we have used healthy ingredients plus, we have baked the kachoris rather than deep frying them to shift it to the healthier side.

  • Urad dal  – 100g
  • Wheat flour – 1 bowl (medium size bowl)
  • Refined Flour – 1 bowl (medium size bowl)
  • Ajwain – 1/2 Tablespoon ajwain
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Oil – 6-7 Tablespoons
  • Water – as per the requirement
  • Cumin seeds – ½ Tablespoon 
  • Fennel seeds – 1 Teaspoon
  • Hing – ½ Teaspoon
  • Green chilly – 1 Tablespoon
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 Tablespoon
  • Garam masala – 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander powder – 1 Teaspoon
  • Red chilly powder – ½ Teaspoon
  • Turmeric – ½ Teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves – 1 stand (chopped)

NOTE

In this famous North Indian baked kachori, we have used Organic tattva urad dal to boost its taste and supply the dish with a hint of authenticity and purity.

INSTRUCTIONS

When there’s some special occasion in the family, kachoris are mandatory to be made. The crispy, fluffy and bust of flavours make it everyone’s favourite. The process of the recipes is important to pay attention to. We have written the step-by-step instruction below to help you make a puffed and crispy kachori.

 

  • In a bowl take urad dal, wash it thoroughly and soak it for 2 hours in warm water
  • After the urad dal is soaked, coarsely grind the dal without adding water to it and keep it aside
  • In another bowl take wheat flour, refined flour, ajwain, salt, and oil mix all the ingredients well
  • Now, by adding water make a soft textured dough
  • Heat a pan, add cumin seeds, hing, green chilly, and ginger-garlic paste and sort the paste for about a minute
  • Add garam masala, coriander powder, red chilly powder, and turmeric, and sort it a few minutes
  • Add ground urad dal to the pan, mix everything and cook for 7-8 minutes, salt, coriander leaves
  • Now keep the mix aside and let it cool for a couple of minutes
  • Take a small portion of dough and make a hole in it and fill it with urad dal filling and seal it and give it a shape of a ball
  • With the help of a rolling pin, give the ball a round shape
  • Now, heat a tawa, place the rolled dough on it and cook it from both the sides
  • And Grease the kachori with oil, and serve it hot with aloo ki sabzi and green chutney.
